This course is run through the ASDAN course. This leads to the equivalent of a GCSE at grades B-D. The students have to present a portfolio of work with evidence of the following skills:

  • working with others
  • research
  • presentation
  • problem solving
  • discussion and improving their own learning.

These are met through a series of tasks that include topics on health, hygiene and personal care, the environment, communication, work and vocational assignments.

All the students have to plan and carry out a series of activities for themselves and others (e.g. arranging a bowling trip for the group). It is a hands-on course and is proving to be very popular.
